Bulletin Regatta 2011: Dear Lake Barron Citizen, We would like to remind everyone that there will be a Lake Barron Regatta this year, Saturday July 30th 2011 (In case of rain it will be moved to Sunday July 31st) Location: McOuat BEACH (west end of the lake) 20 Ch. Lake Barron Start Time: First race is at 10:00 am There are several swimming, canoe, and kayak races available for all age groups. Please bring your Canoe or Kayak to the event. Fun activities for all ages: Swimming Races (Ages 1 – 55+) Canoe / Kayak Races Courreur des Bois endurance race Sand Castle competition Face Painting & games for children Medals and trophies awarded to 1st,2nd, 3rd place finalists. Bring the whole family and have fun with your Lake Barron neighbours!! Our Lake needs you All of us enjoy Lake Barron. We have beautiful scenery, wonderful water quality, a fantastic environment for our kids, and a great place to just kick back and relax. What we do not realize is that in no small measure our Executive (volunteers all) and the members of our Association work very hard to ensure that Lake Barron stays the Lake we want it to be. Volunteers work on boating issues, activities, web sites, water purity and other environmental issues, we are not getting members out for annual meetings, never mind volunteering to work on the various committees. Lake Barron needs us, you and me, to get involved in order to continue enjoying our Lake as we know it. Pay your dues, become a member of the Association, and next year when Regatta time rolls around, let’s volunteer to get it done.
